Many have been hurt by the current economic environment and those
looking to make up for lost income are wondering if starting their
own home based business or, online business, would be a good idea.
To tell you the truth, it would be a GREAT idea!

I am no economist, but I am in sales and people are still spending their
hard earned dollars. What I have noticed though, is the fact that they are
spending there money on the less frivolous things. So would starting
a new small online or home based business be frivolous…no.  Starting a
business for yourself is exactly that! For yourself. During the great
deppression people still spent money and many took very big risks with
what they had and the funny thing is is that those individuals who invested
in themselves made it big and are still around today and struggling through
like the rest of us, but they know the outcome because they have seen them
come and go.

Where the problem lies is that we do not completely understanding
what risks we are already taking on our day to day life. You risk your
savings with banks that are not only taking your money, but being
given your extra tax dollars for bailouts without the interest accumulated
and payed back to you. You look to your job for the health coverage,
and your 401k’s as well, and I ask you this…are you worried about
where they are investing it? Of course you are. So why, after taking risks
with these areas of your finances are you worried about risking your
investment dollars into yourself?

There will always be brick and mortar businesses, we will all need the
local carpet cleaner, painter, and the handyman, but remember, we also
have the World Wide Web at our disposal. The Internet is not as crowded
with everyone in the world trying to make money online, just the opposite,
it is still growing and entrepreneurialism has just begun there. You have
the world to market to, not just your town, county and state, but the
world.

Making the decision to start your own online or, home based business
should not be decided on the state of the economy, the economy will
either make it, or it will not. But as for myself? I will trudge along the
path of investing my time and the little money it takes to keep succeeding
in my business, after all, even in this economic climate a simple person
like myself can still, and am, prospering…and so can you.
