This topic will be one of the most exciting topics in my free eCourse and
I’m hope you gain some insight into what you can do to profit from
using the public domain.

Lets get started shall we?

If you go to Google and do a search for any classic book that you know
will be in the public domain such as Bramm Stoker’s Dracula or even
the infamous book Alice In Wonderland you will no doubt find several
links to sites on the web that are reselling digital copies of the
original works.

If you go a step further and search eBay for the same you will find
eBay sellers with listings for the same.

Now while you are at eBay browsing the listings I bet you will find
several related links to auctions and store listings that offer
“collections” of these classic works.

Ever wonder where they gather all of the items in their collection?

One great source is Project Gutenberg’s CD and DVD compilation section.
In this section you can see the CD and DVD series that Gutenberg has
prepared for you to download for free.

But, and here is the secret gem that no one wants you to know about…

You can create your own CD or DVD compilation as well!

Now this is powerful stuff here.

Lets say you want to create your own CD of Gutenberg’s public domain
related to gardening. All you have to do is to first do a regular
advanced search using gardening as your keyword search criteria, and
then in a notepad window copy and paste either the name of the works
found or the author’s name.

I have found it best to use the author’s name as they may have a series
of books on the subject that your first search didn’t pick up on.

After you have your list of authors or works titles go back to the
create your own CD section and plus those into the ISO creation tool
and waa laa, you have your own custom CD or DVD that you can now burn
copies from and sell yourself.

There is only one stipulation to using this method however. According
to Project Gutenberg’s common laws rights page if you plan to sell the
works you have to agree to give Gutenberg 20% of your profits.

Believe me this is chump change for having such a powerful tool at your
disposal. And you are helping Project Gutenberg to stay alive so its a
win-win situation for both of you!
